It seems Yashasvi Jaiswal left quite an impression on the minds of England cricketers during their recent tour of India. Jaiswal amassed a record 712 runs at an average of 89 during the five-match Test series between India and England.
Interestingly, Jaiswal clattered those runs at an excellent strike-rate of 79.91.
And during the third day of the Rajkot Test where Jaiswal scored a century, England opener Ben Duckett claimed that his team should get some credit for the manner in which their opponents are batting.

England have adopted an aggressive approach with the bat since the appointment of Ben Stokes as captain and Brendon McCullum as the head coach of their Test team. The tactic resulted in a remarkable turnaround of their fortunes before their unbeaten series run of the ‘Bazball’ era ended in India.
Jaiswal has refused to respond the Duckett’s comments which were made in reference to the India opener’s quick scoring rate.
“I don’t want to say anything about it. I just need to try and do whatever I can do on the ground that says the best I can do,” Jaiswal told The Indian Express.
Addressing media in Rajkot, Duckett had said, “When you see players from the opposition playing like that, it almost feels like we should take some credit that they’re playing differently than how other people play Test cricket.”
Meanwhile, Jaiswal revealed how India head coach Rahul Dravid encourages his players to speak their mind and help them get better.
“Dravid sir keeps supporting us. He will walk in and keep talking to us. He will be asking ‘kya chal raha hai dimag mein (what is going in your mind)?’ He makes sure I can speak to him and get the right information for the game. He gives that spirit, he gives us that confidence that we will do it. He will tell us to enjoy the game, and be aware of the situation. I keep all these messages in my mind when batting,” Jaiswal said.
