Jaiswal, who scored 72 and 51 in the second Test, is now only behind Kane Williamson (829) and Joe Root (899).

Meanwhile, former India captain Virat Kohli has returned to the top 10, gaining six places to be ranked sixth following scores of 47 and 29* against Bangladesh. Bumrah Pips Ashwin to become World No. 1

There has been a reshuffle at the top of the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings with India pacer Jasprit Bumrah re-claiming his position as the No.1 ranked bowler.

Bumrah has surpassed Ravichandran Ashwin to claim the premier position for just the second time on the back of his six scalps for the match during India’s recent seven-wicket triumph over Bangladesh in Kanpur.

Ashwin claimed five wickets of his own during that match and is only one point behind Bumrah’s rating of 870 points, while Bangladesh will be buoyed by the improvements made from Mehidy Hasan (up four spots to 18th) and veteran spinner Shakib Al Hasan (up five places to 28th).

As for the all-rounders, there has been no significant change in the rankings, with Jadeja holding the top spot, followed by Ashwin at second and Axar Patel at seventh.

Team Rankings

India moved further clear at the top of the World Test Championship standings courtesy of their victory over Bangladesh and are well placed to earn a spot in a third consecutive final. In team rankings, India were in the second spot with 120 rating points, separated from leader Australia by four points, while England remained in the third place with 108 points.
