Indian cricketer Riyan Parag produced a moment of brilliance during his 29-ball-37-run knock in the Duleep trophy game between India A and India D on Thursday.

The all-rounder from Assam stayed a brief while at the crease but ensured that a six over the covers off Vidhwath Kaverappa over stood out in his innings. Everything about the batter’s shot was near perfection as he executed the shot with incredible poise and control over the shot.

Indian D started the game well as Kaverappa dismissed India A opener Mayank Agarwal, as Sanju Samson secured the catch to get rid of the dangerous batter after having made just 7 runs. Pratam Singh also fell to Kaverappa for an identical score as Arsdheep Singh claimed the catch of the batsman.

Parag held the crease during a crucial time and managed to add 37 runs to his team’s tally, alongside Tilak Varma, who was later scalped by Sarans Jain for 10 runs as Shreyas Iyer held onto the catch that forced the southpaw to walk back to the hut after he fell cheaply.

Parag was sent back to the hut by pacer Arshdeep with Devdutt Padikkal snatching up the wicket opportunity offered up by the young batter.

Shashwat Rawat added 15 runs before being scalped by Harshit Rana before Kumar Kushagra added 28 runs before Arshdeep preyed on the youngster’s wicket.

Shams Mulani and Tanush Kotian came up with well-made half-centuries to bail the India A side as Kotian added 53 runs off his willow in his 80-ball-innings, while Mulani weathered over a hundred deliveries in his calculated innings.
