India’s U19 star Arshin Kulkarni had a fanboy moment when he met legendary South Africa all-rounder Jacques Kallis ahead of the ICC U-19 World Cup 2024. The youngster was seen paying tribute to Kallis by touching his feet. Kulkarni also did not forget to ask Kallis to give him an autograph. The heartwarming interaction of Kallis and Kulkarni was shared by the official social media handle of the SA20 franchise Pretoria Capitals. Kallis is currently handling the assistant coach’s duties of the Pretoria Capitals side.
“Can I touch your feet?’ said Kulkarni, who idolises Kallis. On Monday, he got to meet his hero,” read the post shared by Pretoria Capitals on X, formerly Twitter.
Kulkarni is gearing up to represent the India under-19 team at the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa.

In the now-viral video, Arshin Kulkarni can be seen getting his jersey signed by Kallis. The 18-year-old also showed a note to Kallis, which the former South Africa cricketer had signed 10 years back.

Kulkarni also shared quite a few pictures of his meet with Kallis on Instagram. “The best day of my life. For the past 12 years, you have been the person I looked upon as a perfect cricketer and as a role model. Today was the day when I finally met you, every time my parents asked me about my favourite destination, I would say South Africa in the hope that I would finally get to meet him. I have always been your admirer and you have always been my inspiration always and forever sir,” read the caption of the post.

Born in Solapur, Maharashtra, Arshin Kulkarni has wowed fans with his performances in domestic cricket. Kulkarni made his domestic T20 debut during a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Bengal in October last year. Representing Maharashtra in that fixture, Kulkarni had slammed a six and a boundary in that match. Overall, the young all-rounder has featured in six T20 matches.
In the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, India have been placed in Group A of the tournament along with Bangladesh, the USA and Ireland. India under-19 team will kick off their World Cup journey with a match against Bangladesh on Saturday, January 20.
