Gujarat Titans registered a 7-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday to claim their second triumph of the ongoing 2024 edition of the IPL.

GT managed to limit SRH to 162/8 in 20 overs, thanks to Mohit Sharma’s three-wicket-haul, before chasing down the target with 5 balls to spare.

SRH won the toss and opted to bat first as they opened their innings with Travis Head and Mayank Agrawal, who put up a 34-run stand for the first wicket before the Indian was sent back by GT pacer Azmatullah Omarzai for 16 off 17 deliveries.

Head did not last much longer after his opening partner fell, as he was castled by Noor Ahmed after making just 19 runs off 14 deliveries.

Abhishek Sharma, who chipped in with a 29-ru contribution was sent on the long walk back to the dugout by Mohit Sharma as he lifted one right into the hands of GT skipper Shubman Gill at covers.

Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen looked to steady the SRH ship as the Protea pair dragged their team past the triple-digit mark before Klaasen was castled by Rashid Khan, for his only wicket of the day.

Klaasen’s compatriot Markram joined him in the hut shortly after as he was scalped by Umesh Yadav thanks to a stunning catch from Rashid Khan at long on.

Abdul Samad and Shahbaz Ahmed spent some time at the crease to pull SRH beyond the 150-run mark before Shahbaz was dismissed by Mohit. The GT pacer claimed his three-wicket haul as he removed impact player Washington Sundar in the very next delivery.

Samad was caught short of his crease in the very last ball of the innings as SRH managed to put up a total of 162/8 in 20 overs.

SRH broke the GT opening partnership with the scalp of Wriddhiman Saha, who made a quick 25 off 13 deliveries before falling prey to Shahbaz.

Gill and Sai Sudharshan steadied the chase with their 38-run stand before the skipper was dismissed by Mayank Markande for 36 off 28 deliveries.

Sudharshan and David Miller put up a 64-run stand before the former was caught by Sbhishek in the deep off SRH skipper Cummins’ overs after scoring 45 runs off 36 balls.

Miller stood unbeaten alongside Vijay Shankar as the duo helped GT get past the finish line with 7 wickets and 5 deliveries to spare.
