Following match 9 of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rajasthan Royals managed to beat the Delhi Capitals in their second home game of the season at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Friday.

After being asked to bat first, RR were under massive pressure having lost three wickets within the powerplay. But the 22-year-old Riyan Parag managed to rescue the innings with a heroic knock of 84 from just 25 balls to help set a defendable target of 186 runs.

Coming to the second innings, Nandre Burger managed to come in with two crucial wickets in the powerplay to give the hosts some momentum. Despite David Warner looking to score big, it was promptly halted by Avesh Khan who got the wicket of the Australian veteran. This was followed by regular wickets but Tristan Stubbs took the game deep but Avesh’s final over meant that the visitors were unable to chase down the target.

Points Table Update After RR vs DC

The Rajasthan Royals join Chennai Super Kings as the only two sides to remain undefeated in the tournament with two wins so far. However, CSK’s superior net run-rate means that RR will have to settle for second spot in the points table.

Orange Cap Update After RR vs DC

In the race for top-scorer in the tournament, the youngster Riyan Parag has shot up to second spot in the table after his brilliant knock today. He is just 16 runs shy of the orange cap holder, Heinrich Klaasen, who sits with 143 runs in the two games he has played so far.

Purple Cap Update After RR vs DC

Following today’s fixture, Mustafizur Rahman maintains the top spot in the wicket-taking charts. But Yuzuvendra Chahal has jumped up to fourth in the table having picked up two wickets today. Kuldeep Yadav has also gone up to sixth in the table with the same number of wickets.
