'Nobody Else Knows More About T20 Cricket Than Him': CSK Pacer Hails MS Dhoni For Helping Improve His Game
Chennai Super Kings pacer, Simarjeet Singh believes that MS Dhoni's knowledge about T20 cricket has helped up his game as he is amongst the top pacers in the Delhi Premier League.

MS Dhoni’s ‘simple’ approach to cricket, Chennai Super Kings fast-bowler, Simarjeet Singh hailed his teammate and former India captain as to why he has been able to improve his game to become the leading wicket-taker at the ongoing Delhi Premier League tournament.

Representing the East Delhi Riders, Simarjeet tops the wicket-taking charts with 15 wickets in just eight games. During the IPL he had an impressive show when he played against the Rajasthan Royals, dismissing the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson at Chepauk in May earlier this year.

Speaking in an interview with the Press Trust of India, Simarjeet believes that MS Dhoni’s immense knowledge about the game helped him improve his game in the shortest format.

“MS Dhoni has helped me to develop myself as a better T20 bowler. I don’t think nobody else knows more about T20 cricket than him,” the right-arm pacer said.

“He (MS Dhoni) has taught me a lot; it’s not just one thing he has helped me with. We keep asking him for advice, and he always simplifies things by saying that playing simple cricket is the best way to play,” he added.

The quick bowler remains focused on working on improving his game and take the chance to learn what he can when with international players and also participates regularly in the domestic scene.

“I just want to learn and when senior India players come and play domestic cricket. We get to learn a lot for them,” he said.

As one of the senior players in the East Delhi Riders team, Simarjeet helps guide and develop young talent.

“Youngsters come to me and plan their strategies for every game. I think it is a very good opportunity for players in Delhi to showcase their skills and talent and earn a maiden domestic call-up,” he signed off.
