'Very Pleased and Relieved': David Warner Has Found His Lost Baggy Green Cap
Ahead of his final Test, David Warner had said his bag containing the cherished caps had gone missing during the team's flight from Melbourne to Sydney.

Australia batting superstar David Warner says he’s found the baggy green cap that was lost alongside his backpack during transit from Melbourne to Sydney ahead of his final Test of his stellar career.

On the eve of the third Test against Pakistan that got underway earlier this week, Warner had made a public plea for the return of his baggy green cap and promised to not take any action if it has indeed been stolen by someone.

However, days after his plea on Instagram, the opening batter has announced the baggy greens have indeed been returned to him.

“David Warner’s missing baggy greens have been located,” Cricket Australia said in a statement.

“The bag in which they were packed was found at the team hotel (in Sydney) with all the contents inside. The movements of the missing bag are unknown despite extensive searches and the review of CCTV footage at multiple locations and the efforts of numerous parties since Tuesday,” it added.

Warner shared another vide on Instagram expressing his happiness.

“Hi everyone, I am very pleased and relieved to let you all know that my baggy greens have been found, which is great news. Thanks to all involved and I am extremely grateful,” he said.

Warner will retire from Test cricket after the conclusion of the ongoing Test series between Australia and Pakistan.

The third and final match of the series started on January 3 with Warner receiving a guard of honour from the Pakistan players as he walked out to bat at the Sydney Cricket Ground. He was given an early chance after being dropped in the slip cordon and scored 34 before being dismissed.

Warner has also announced he has played the last ODI of his career which happens to be the final of the world cup last year when Australia won a record-extending sixth title.

However, he has kept the door open for ODI return should there be a need for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Warner will continue playing T20 cricket and is hopeful of making the cut for the world cup slated to be held in June this year.
