Glenn Maxwell chatted with a cab driver who admitted being a cricket fan but was unable to recognise Maxwell despite praising the Aussie allrounder.

A clip of Australia’s world cup winning stars Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa is going viral on social media. In the video, a taxi driver who claims to be a cricket fan fails to recognise the duo.

Maxwell can be seen asking the driver about the game of cricket.

“Do you know anything about cricket?” Maxwell asked to initiate the conversation.

The cab driver then responded by saying that it is his favourite sport but surprisingly carries on with the conversation without showing any hint that he’s recognised that it’s Maxwell, one of the biggest superstars of the game, having a chat with him.

The cabbie eventually realises it’s indeed Maxwell.

One user was quick to come to the cab driver’s rescue by suggesting that it is not that easy to identify stars and celebrities off the TV. He wrote, “Tbh, recognising celebs and players off TV isn’t easy for most people. I think he was half-sure when he mentioned Maxwell.”

Another fan talked about the dominant Australian cricket era that was spearheaded by former skipper Ricky Ponting. He said, “Ricky Ponting scarred a generation for life…90s people won’t forget him.

One said, “He is telling Maxwell that Maxwell is a good player.”

One social media user simply said, “I love this video”.

In another reply, one person could not help but notice the camera work done in the video. He cheekily suggested, “Cameraman took his invisible poll before the camera starts action.”

Maxwell and Zampa played a vital role in Australia’s world cup winning campaign in India last year.

During their league stage match against Afghanistan, Maxwell produced one of the greatest knocks in the sport’s history. The star all-rounder scored 200 to rescue the game for Australia despite battling cramps.

Earlier in the tourney, he also broke the record for the fastest century at a World Cup when he smashed a ton in just 40 balls against the Netherlands.

Zampa, on the other hand, was one of the best bowlers at the ODI World Cup. He finished the tournament with 23 dismissals, just one behind highest wicket-taker and ace India pacer Mohammad Shami.
