All eyes were on Virat Kohli when India took on Afghanistan in the second T20I at Holkar Stadium in Indore. The former Indian skipper was back into the shortest format of the game after a gap of 14 months and the excitement to watch him in action was beyond all limits. A crazy Kohli fan breached the security cover at the venue and invaded the play area to hug his favourite player.
The incident happened in the 18th over of the Afghanistan innings when Kohli was fielding near the boundary line. The fan jumped off the fence and raced towards the ace Indian cricketer. Though the visuals were not aired on live television, the game was halted for a while until the security personnel took the man out of the field.

As reported by news agency PTI, the person was detained for defying the security arrangements and was taken to the Tukoganj police station. A police official said that the youth had a ticket for the match and entered the Holkar Stadium from Narendra Hirwani Gate.
He said that the young man seemed to be a big Kohli fan and entered the ground by climbing the fence of the spectators’ gallery with the desire to meet the player. The officer said that the youth was being interrogated and further steps would be taken in the case based on interrogation.
Later, India beat Afghanistan by six wickets in the second T20I to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-game series. India skipper Rohit Sharma on Sunday said he is happy that the players are actually walking the talk as the team ticks all the boxes ahead of the T20 World Cup.
“We have been clear with what we wanted to do, very clear message to everyone and when you see a performance like that, you can be really proud. One thing is talking about it, but to actually go there and play that way is a proud feeling. The last two games, we’ve ticked a lot of boxes,” Rohit said during the post-match presentation.
