The Indian cricket team are set to don the white jerseys as they prepare themselves to resume their World Test Championship (WTC) campaign with a two-match Test series against Bangladesh starting from September 19.
The Rohit Sharma-led side has been spotted at the Chennai International Airpor in a video by Press Trust of India, with several star players like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah were spotted making their way onto the team bus following their arrival in Chennai.
Chennai will play host for the first Test of the two-match affair. A city that shares a rich cricketing history will also be a homecoming of sorts for the legendary Ravichandran Ashwin, who is set to play a five-day match since his previous game played in 2021.

The Indian team have announced a fairly strong squad with several key players making their way back into the side. The likes of Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul are among the notable returnees. Kohli had taken a break due to the birth of his second child, Pant made his return to the Test side after his horrific accident in December 2022 and KL Rahul made his way back to the Test side after his injury spell which ruled him out of the England series.

The two-time World Test Championship finalists will be keen on picking up wins in both games to secure a shot at making it a third consecutive finals appearance. But Bangladesh have shown that they have what it takes to go against the grain and take on a dominant opponent.

The Bangladesh team will come on the back of a historic 2-0 series victory over Pakistan where both games took place in Rawalpindi. It was the first time in history that Bangladesh were able to achieve this feat and the side will look to keep that form going.
