Watch: Crocodile's ‘City Outing’ Comes To An End With A Rescue Act
According to initial reports, the crocodile had left the Ganga canal near Narora Ghat in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.

In a shocking incident, a ten-foot crocodile emerged from a canal and entered the surrounding area, creating havoc in a town in Uttar Pradesh. According to initial reports, the crocodile had left the Ganga canal near Narora Ghat in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. Upon spotting the reptile, locals contacted the forest department and police, who responded quickly to capture the crocodile. The authorities took swift action, and the reptile has been rescued and released back into the water. The rescue video shared by news agency ANI is now going viral.

The video shows the immobile crocodile being carried by the officials to be released back into the canal. Many locals could be seen helping the officers. As they reach near the original habitat of the reptile, they slowly lower the creature and let it rest on the ground. The police and forest officials are seen ensuring that the reptile is safe. Mohit Chaudhary, Circle Officer, forest department Dibai Range told ANI, “The crocodile crawled out of the canal, and it was trying to get back to the canal. Taking the incident into cognisance, we rescued the crocodile and released it back into the canal.”

The initial clip that went viral a day ago showed the crocodile trying to return to the river on its own climbing the iron railing in the town. The crocodile, unable to do so, landed on the ground and attempted to run. Reportedly, to trap the crocodile, forest officials wrapped its head in a towel and attempted to bind its limbs to keep it from attacking the rescue team. Some time back, ropes were used to bind its legs, as seen in the videos. Apparently, one forest officer put a rope around the crocodile’s back legs, while the other four held onto the ropes that secured its head and front legs. While some officers wrapped a rope around the crocodile’s jaws, two others raised its tail.

Online users praised the forest department for their brave work and ensuring that the reptile was not harmed in any way. A user wrote, “Wonderful work by the forest department, I wish our Forest officers had better equipment.” while some also raised concerns that the officer did not have proper equipment to handle such scenarios. “Forest dept has no proper equipment to catch and release wild creatures with care,” stated another.
