Defending champions India will open their campaign against the UAE while Pakistan will lock horns with Nepal on July 19 as the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Tuesday announced the schedule of the Women’s Asia Cup 2024. The tournament will be held entirely in Dambulla, Sri Lanka with as many as 8 teams participating.

The 8 participants have been divided into 2 groups. Group A comprises India, Pakistan, Nepal and UAE. The likes of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Thailand comprise Group B. The previous edition, which was held in Bangladesh in 2022, featured 7 teams. But this year, the tournament will see an addition of one more side, indicating the surging interest in women’s cricket across Asia.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals, which will be held on July 26. The final of the tournament will be held on July 28.
