South African pacer Nandre Burger won’t mind sledging Virat Kohli if he gets an opportunity in the future.
Burger, who is currently representing Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), made the revelation during a chat with his teammate Donovan Ferreira.
During the conversation, Ferreira asked Burger to pick a batter whom he would like to sledge on the field. In response, the 28-year-old speedster was quick to reveal that there was no such particular player in his mind.
“I think there is no specific batsman I enjoy sledging. I just think I enjoy the competitive side of it,” Burger said.

He then recalled his debut Test series against India in December last year.
In the second game, Burger was involved in a fiery duel with India batting star Kohli.
The South African pacer managed to trouble Kohli with some short deliveries and the two had a bit of a staredown.
That’s when Kohli was heard saying, “Tereko 30 runs marunga ek over mai, [I will hit you for 30 runs in an over].”

Referring to the incident, Burger said, “I think in the India series last year, many people thought myself and Virat had a little thing which we actually didn’t. There was no sledging happening there. It was just stare-downs. But I think to get into a little sledging match with him would be fun. I think I would enjoy it.”
Burger’s remarks attracted a humorous reply from Ferreira.
The wicketkeeper-batter said, “I don’t know. Good luck.”
Burger sensed the sarcasm behind the comment and was left in splits.

Kohli currently leads the Orange Cap charts, having accumulated 708 runs in 14 matches. Meanwhile, Burger has picked seven wickets in his six appearances in this IPL.
