Days before the Central Board of Secondary Exam (CBSE) Practical Exams 2024, the national board released guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). In the latest circular released by the board, it has mentioned the rules to be followed by the schools, parents, as well as students. It is to be noted that the CBSE has scheduled to conduct the Class 10 and Class 12 practical exams from January 1, 2024.
CBSE Practical Exam 2024: Guidelines for Students/Parents
— Both students and parents need to make sure that their fields of study are being reflected correctly in the list of candidates submitted by the schools.
— Students and parents should be aware of the syllabus and the subjects for which practical exams will be conducted.
— The Board will grant students a second opportunity to participate in the practical tests, provided that they do so according to the schedule.
CBSE Practical Exam 2024: Guidelines for Schools
— The schools will have to make sure that the curriculum for the practical exams is completed well in time.
— The schools must ensure that necessary arrangements like stocking of laboratories and identification of internal examiners have been made.
— The schools will ensure that all the students and parents have been informed about the date-sheet of practical exams for needful action at their end.
— The marks in the practical examination shall be awarded only from the correct maximum marks in the practical component of the subject as specified in the circular of bifurcation of marks released on October 30, 2023, via circular number CBSE/Coord/Marks distribution/E-58224/2023.
— Both the external and internal examiners should take note of the fact that once marks are published, they cannot be changed. Therefore, they must ensure that correct marks are uploaded. Students are recommended to appear for the practical examinations on the scheduled dates only.
— Class 12 practical examinations will only be conducted by the external examiners appointed by the board.
CBSE Practical Exam 2024: Guidelines for Regional Offices
— The regional offices should ensure that the practical exams are completed by all the schools within the notified schedule and marks are also uploaded.
— They shall ensure that the practical answer books are delivered to the schools before the commencement of practical examinations.
