Meet Mukesh Kumar, The Bihar Man Who Cleared BPSC Exam Twice
Mukesh Kumar cleared the exam by securing the 559th rank on his first attempt.

Exams conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) are considered to be the most competitive examinations. A fairly small number of candidates, however, clear these exams with meticulous preparation and make their way to the top ranks. One of these candidates is Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Ward-17 of Supaul City, Bihar. Mukesh is the son of a class IV category employee named Pradeep Kumar Raut, who works in the education department. Mukesh has achieved success in the BPSC examination for the second consecutive time. He has got 145th rank and has been selected for the Sub Registrar post. In the first attempt, Mukesh cleared the exam by securing the 559th rank and was selected as Municipal Executive Officer. Mukesh talked about his life and achievements in an interview with the News18.

Mukesh said that he completed his preliminary education in Supaul and studied further till the 12th from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Supaul. Post the school education, Mukesh did his Bachelor in Technology in Chemical Engineering from Rourkela. He then worked as a teacher and taught the students of the Indian Institute of Technology and Medical stream as well for three years. During this time, his father Pradeep Kumar Raut, and friends encouraged him to appear for the competitive civil services examination. Mukesh was inspired to appear for this exam; then he started preparing. According to Mukesh, he attempted the BPSC exam for the second time because he couldn’t achieve the desired rank in the first attempt.

Mukesh credits his parents, grandmother, and friends who are working in government service for helping him a lot in his studies and exam-related preparations. Mukesh’s father Pradeep Kumar Raut expressed happiness over his son’s success. An attendant in the education department, Raut said that Mukesh was brilliant in his studies from the beginning. As per Raut, he was mesmerised to watch the lavish status of government officials during his service. Due to this, Raut said that he had a desire that his only son should also become an officer amongst the top ranks. Raut said that he always encouraged his son to become an officer. He said that Mukesh’s grandparents were health workers and also wanted their grandson to clear the civil services examination.
