Noida Land Scam: ED Raids Former IAS Officer Mohinder Singh’s House
The land scam revolves around the controversial 10% policy of the Noida Authority.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently raided former IAS officer and ex-Noida Authority CEO, IAS officer Mohinder Singh’s properties. They unveiled a lump sum amount of Rs 1 crore in cash and precious items linked to a Rs 9000 crore Noida land scam during the Mayawati government, where land allocations were manipulated for personal gain. ED has raided multiple properties of Mohinder Singh, including his residences in Chandigarh, Noida and Delhi. The scam permitted several large real estate creators to profit, causing significant revenue losses for the government. During the raids, the authorities seized Rs 1 crore in cash, worth Rs 12 crore worth diamonds, and gold valued at Rs 7 crore.

The land scam revolves around the controversial 10% policy of the Noida Authority, which permitted developers to acquire land at significantly reduced prices. Mohinder Singh is believed to have enabled numerous major real estate companies, including Amrapali and Supertech, in taking advantage of this policy.

Mohinder Singh is one of the key accused in this land scam, where a controversial 10% land payment allocation scheme was used to facilitate these illegal transactions. The ED is also investigating other assets tied to Singh, both domestically and abroad, as the case unfolds.

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India has uncovered serious fraud involving the Noida Authority between 2005 and 2018. The findings show that officials and builders worked together, which led to major financial losses for the state. The report reveals that about 80% of commercial plots during this time were given to just three companies, Wave Group, 3C Group, and Logix Group. Despite these companies gaining a huge amount of money, they faced no penalties from the Noida Authority.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is continuing his investigations and looking into other properties linked to those involved. This scandal raises big questions about government honesty and highlights the need for stronger measures to prevent corruption in land deals.

These investigations are an essential step towards holding people accountable and fixing the problems that have damaged the reputation of public institutions in the area.
