The locals of Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh had earlier raised the demand for a government university. Now, the possibilities of opening this university have increased as according to News18 Hindi, a budget has been allocated for the same. Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department, Chandrashekhar told the District Magistrate that the budget is estimated at Rs 299 crore.
The moment the budget for the university is cleared, the construction work will start and the students will be able to enrol in it for studying under various disciplines. According to reports, the Public Works Department has also prepared the design and the layout for the university.
As per reports, the university will be built in Hardaspur village. This village is located in Aonla tehsil of Bareilly district. This will increase the chances of employment opportunities and development in the village and the nearby areas. A Ring Road and a market will also be made near this university which will further add to the employment possibilities. Reports claim that the university will be established in an area of fifty acres. The development opportunities were bleak in Hardaspur village due to the presence of the Ramganga River. The Ramganga River stretches across 650 km from Uttarakhand to Uttar Pradesh.
District Magistrate Manvendra Singh said that Rs 9 crore has been approved for purchasing the land. As per reports, the proposal regarding the university will be passed following a discussion in the cabinet.
As per News18 Hindi, the construction of the university will benefit the students who had to leave Moradabad for their studies. For finalising the location of the university, a report was sought from the Irrigation And The Water Resources Department. The report inquired whether the location is safe from natural disasters like floods. When the report verified the safety measures, only then the further proceedings were initiated.
The administration sent the report to the government and the Higher Education Department reviewed it. District Magistrate has informed that the land of two individuals will be purchased which was earlier becoming a hindrance to the project.
