Cristiano Ronaldo’s trio of awards at the Globe Soccer Gala 2024 was celebrated by his club Al Nassr with a special cake.
The Portuguese sporting icon finished 2023 as the year’s top scorer, having netted 54 goals.
Ronaldo’s achievements were recognised at the Globe Soccer Awards 2024 which saw him win the Best Middle East Player, The Mardona Award and the Fans’ Favourite Player of the Year prize.
This led to the club surprising Ronaldo with a special cake featuring some words on top of it saying, “Awards keep following the GOAT”. Some of the club players then began the signature ‘Siuuu’ chant to cheer for the 38-year-old.
The video of the entire sequence was uploaded by Al Nassr on X in a post that read, “A surprise from team to the Captain, Then everyone chants “Siiiiiu”.

Several football fans have now reacted to the video uploaded by the Saudi Pro League club with one of them saying, “That is what you call respect”.
Another simply felt lucky to have the global star play for their club. He wrote, “We the fans of this great club Al Nassr FC are the luckiest on the planet to have you Cristiano with us”.
One fan recognised Ronaldo’s class and said, “What a player he is, legend of the game”.
“That is why Al Nassr is the best club in the world”, wrote another.
Cristiano Ronaldo once again dunked on his haters while proving that age is just a number. The 38-year-old football superstar beat young beasts like Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to finish as the top scorer for 2023.
Despite an incredible year with Al Nassr, Ronaldo missed out on the ultimate trophy for the Globe Soccer Player of the Year prize. That award was won by Haaland for his record-breaking year at Manchester City.
The Norweigan star won the European treble while breaking the record for the most goals scored in a single Premier League campaign. He had earlier missed out on the Ballon d’Or and FIFA The Best, losing both awards to Argentina icon Lionel Messi.
Following the Globe Soccer Award ceremony, Cristiano Ronaldo also seemed to aim a slight dig at FIFA and France Football by speaking on the credibility of their trophies. As per Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the footballer told Record, “Ballon d’Or and The Best are losing credibility. It’s not to say that Messi didn’t deserve it, or Haaland or even Mbappé… but the numbers are there and the numbers don’t deceive. You’ve to consider the entire season. The numbers are facts”.
