Brentford’s striker Ivan Toney managed to grab the spotlight once again as the forward was part of the annual Brit Awards ceremony for the year 2024. The Englishman managed to grab the headlines with an interesting moment when announcing an award.
The star striker was part of the function where him along with fellow presenter Vick Hope. The duo was there to announce the Producer of the Year. After mentioning the names of the nominees, Hope asked Toney if he wanted to make any early predictions about the winner of the award.
“We are so pleased to be presenting the award for producer of the year. Ivan, any bets on who it could be?” Hope asked and it seemed like a subtle dig at Toney’s gambling offences that kept him out of professional football for almost eight months. The English footballer, however, took the question lightly as he smilingly replied, “Damn, too soon, too soon.”

Toney was suspended by the Football Association (FA) in May last year after he admitted 232 breaches of the betting rules between February 2027 and January 2021. Despite being forced out of all football-related activities, Toney also had to shell out a fine of £50,000. He returned to Premier League action on January 20, featuring in a home match against Nottingham Forest.
The 27-year-old was part of his club’s latest fixture against Chelsea which took place just hours before the event. His side went on to secure a 2-2 draw thanks to the goals from Mads Roerslev and Yoane Wissa to give the side a point.
He will be expected to continue for the side but is reportedly considering a move to a bigger club and the striker will be a highly sought after prospect considering his quality on the pitch. With only eight appearances in the season, he has already racked up four goals and looks to be coming back to his best form as well.
The striker will now look ahead for the next fixture which comes up against Arsenal at the North London stadium which will again be another testing ground for the forward to showcase his worth to the clubs that are looking at him as a potential signing in the next season.
