Captain Steven Gerrard said the England players have been told to control their aggression.
Rustenberg: Captain Steven Gerrard says the England players have been warned by coach Fabio Capello about controlling their aggression at the World Cup.
The need for discipline on the pitch was highlighted on Monday when striker Wayne Rooney was booked in a training match after swearing at the referee.
Gerrard says "every player has been warned by the manager and coaching staff to make sure they channel their frustrations in the right way."
Gerrard added Thursday that "we don't want to take any of Wayne's fire away from him. Wayne has to make sure he takes his frustrations out in the right manner and takes it out on the oppositions and not the referees."
The midfielder will captain England in Saturday's opener against the United States.
