Girona Expected To Complete Donny van de Beek’s Transfer ‘Early Next Week’
Manchester United's Donny van de Beek who has fallen out of favour with the Red Devils is expected to make the move to La Liga's Girona FC.

Girona are reportedly close to completing the signing of Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek. He will get a chance to feature in the Champions League if the deal eventually takes place. Girona had registered a third-place finish in the La Liga last season.

The Dutchman joined the Premier League outfit in 2020. Back then, he was ranked among the most promising playmakers in Europe and Manchester United secured his signing with a deal worth €41 million. During his four-year stay at Old Trafford, Van de Beek has played for Everton and Eintracht Frankfurt as a loanee. According to transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano, the La Liga club has already held talks with Donny van de Beek and is expected to complete the transfer-related formalities by next week.

As per Romano, Manchester United will initially receive less than €1 million as the selling price of Van de Beek. The deal, however, will include many add-ons, which may increase the overall cost to €4-5 million. The player will also need to agree to a significant sell-on clause with the Old Trafford hierarchy.

“Donny van de Beek’s move to Girona is expected to be completed early next week if all goes to plan on the player side. Man United will receive a bit less than €1m fixed fee plus easy add-ons up to €4/5m based on appearances and extra difficult add-ons, plus a sell-on clause,” Fabrizio Romano posted on X (formerly Twitter).

“Understand if the agreement will be completed early next week also on the player side, Manchester United will have a big sell-on clause. Small initial fee, easy add-ons up to €4/5m and then more add-ons up to €10/15m,” Fabrizio Romano shared in a subsequent post.

Donny van de Beek has made 62 appearances for Manchester United. He has managed to score two goals for the Red Devils since 2020. The 27-year-old playmaker was loaned out to Eintracht Frankfurt earlier in January this year and he has so far featured for the Germani side in eight matches. The German side had the option to make the deal permanent for €11 million but it was ultimately declined.
