Manchester United Star in 'Secret Negotiations' For a Move Away: Report
Galatasaray have been in contact with Manchester United's Christian Eriksen, who is now considering a move to the Turkish Super Lig.

Manchester United star Christian Eriksen has reportedly been involved in some secret negotiations which could see him move out of England. As per news media outlet Fotomac, Galatasaray have been in contact with the United midfielder who is now considering a move to the Turkish Super Lig. It has further been claimed by the report that negotiations are currently being made for the player’s rental but no agreement has been reached yet. The deal would also include an option to buy Eriksen permanently. If a sum is mutually agreed upon, we could see Eriksen leave England immediately. In case the move fails to happen this week then ‘a promise will be made’ for the Denmark international to join Galatasaray in the summer.

Galatasaray have built somewhat of a reputation for making some massive last-minute signings. The Turkish side is often seen to sit deals out until the last moment. They have already signed Carlos Vinicius from Fulham before securing the services of Nottingham Forest’s Serge Aurier in 2024. Now the Turkish side has their eyes set on signing Christian Eriksen. Financing the deal shouldn’t be a problem for Galatasaray as they recently made an income of €35 million from the transfers of Sacha Boey and Cedric Bakambu.

Christian Eriksen arrived in the Premier League back in 2013 from Dutch side Ajax. Having spent seven years at Tottenham Hotspur, Eriksen decided to leave for Serie A side Inter Milan in 2020. He was later signed by Brentford on a six-month contract before he agreed on a three-year deal with Manchester United in 2020. Donning the number 14, Eriksen produced a few magical performances for the Red Devils but was unable to remain consistent at Old Trafford. Despite his up-and-down form, Eriksen played an important role in ending United’s six-year trophy drought by winning the EFL Cup in 2022. He ended up missing the final of the tournament where the Red Devils beat Newcastle United 2-0.

The ongoing season tells a different story about Christian Eriksen. The Dane has made a total of 19 appearances for Manchester United across all competitions. He has netted just a single goal and provided two assists. Eriksen is now slowly losing his place to Kobbie Mainoo who has been starting recent games over the 31-year-old. The young midfielder was the one to score United’s last-minute goal against Wolverhampton last week to seal three important points He also started in United’s previous game which saw the Red Devils win 3-0 over West Ham.

Christian Eriksen’s current contract with Manchester United runs until 2025. If a deal is made we could see the Dane represent Galatasaray in their Super Lig match on Saturday against Basakshehir.
