Manchester United Start Finding Raphael Varane's Potential Replacement: Report
It's being reported that the Red Devils are willing to finalize a new deal and plan to open talks over a new deal next month, as Varane’s contract with Manchester United will come to an end this season.

Having arrived in Old Trafford in 2021, Raphael Varane’s stint at Manchester United may end soon. It has been learnt that Manchester United officials are planning to replace the former Real Madrid center-back this summer.

A report published by the Daily Mail claims that Manchester United have decided not to trigger an option to extend Varane’s contract by a year. This means the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is now free to hold negotiations with foreign teams over a potential summer transfer.

It’s being reported that the Red Devils are willing to finalize a new deal and plan to open talks over a new deal next month, as Varane’s contract with Manchester United will come to an end this season.

The Daily Mail Report claims that Manchester United are contemplating brand new terms which will be lower than Raphael Varane’s current £340,000-a-week salary. Daily Mail have been told about Manchester United considering Varane’s weekly wages to be unjustified.

Frequent injury issues have allowed him to make seven Premier League starts so far this season. Triggering the extension would have resulted in retaining Varane on high wages which the club is understood to have been reluctant to do.

Overall, Raphael Varane has taken part in 11 matches so far this season across all competitions for Manchester United. Having played 79 matches till now for the Premier League club, Varane has found the back of the net twice.

It has been reported that Manchester United have already made plans to find a replacement for Raphael Varane.

According to a Le10Sport article, the Premier League giants have contacted French club Lille over the signing of teenage center-back Leny Yoro. Manchester United are, however, not the only side in contention for the 18-year-old French footballer. European giants like Liverpool and Manchester City are also understood to be planning to rope in the France U-21 international.

The report adds that Olivier Letang, president of Lille, does not intend to release Leny Yoro. Lille are understood to have already asked for around 90 million euros from several clubs that have so far inquired about Yoro.

Having represented Lille 37 times so far, Leny Yoro has found the back of the net three times. He has been a regular starter for the French club in Ligue 1 till now this season. Yoro has made 15 starts out of Lille’s 17 matches so far in this season’s domestic league.
