Turin: Argentina's attacking midfielder Javier Pastore guided Palermo to a 3-1 win over Juventus on Thursday, handing the Turin side its second loss in four Serie A matches this season.
A member of Diego Maradona's World Cup squad, the 21-year-old Pastore put Palermo in front off a rebound after only two minutes. Slovenia midfielder Josep Ilicic doubled the lead in the 62nd, pouncing on the rebound after a shot from Pastore and Cesare Bovo made it 3-0 for the Sicilian side in the 85th.
Vincenzo Iaquinta pulled one back for Juventus in the 87th.
Pastore, who is already being linked with a move to Barcelona, also hit the post in the 41st.
"We hadn't won yet so that was the most important thing," said Pastore, who exchanged jerseys with Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero at the final whistle.
"He's a legend to me," Pastore said of Del Piero.
Palermo and Juventus each have four points, six behind leader Inter Milan, which routed Bari 4-0 Wednesday.
Palermo also gave Inter a tough test Sunday before the European champion rallied for a 2-1 win with two second-half goals from Samuel Eto'o.
Juventus' best chance in the first half came with a long shot from Del Piero that was tipped onto the crossbar and away by goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu in the 43rd.
Juventus was coming off a 4-0 rout of Udinese but coach Luigi Del Neri had trouble finding the right mix in attack. He sent on Iaquinta and Amauri for Simone Pepe and Fabio Quagliarella to start the second half, then replaced Del Piero with Alberto Aquilani in the 60th.
Amauri sent a header wide in the 74th and Sirigu stopped another effort from the Brazilian-born Italy striker in the 79th.
Bovo scored when he curved a long free kick over the Juventus wall and Iaquinta found the net with a header from the middle of the area two minutes later.
