The never-ending transfer saga surrounding the move of French star Kylian Mbappe could be coming to a close in the upcoming window as the 25-year-old’s existing contract with French giants PSG comes to an end in the summer
In the most recent development in the drawn-out saga, transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano shared that La Liga President Javier Tebas believes that the World Cup winner could most likely join the Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Tebas also took the name of Bayern Munich’s star fullback Alphonso Davies, who could switch to the Spanish capital with the Los Blancos.
The La Liga chief expressed that Real Madrid’s financial health seemed steady and that they could afford to rope in the French superstar despite the astronomical costs the club would need to shell out.
“Alphonso Davies and more? I don’t know the costs of the Mbappe deal but in any case, Real have an excellent financial situation. They never did crazy things in the recent years,” Tebas said.
The 61-year-old suggested that with each passing day that Mbappe fails to pen a contract extension with the Parisian club, the chances of his move to Los Blancos increased.
“I said it was around 50% some weeks ago, now is even more. 55/60% chances? Yes, I think so,” Tebas added.
“Every day that passes and Mbappé does not sign the new contract with PSG, the percentage increases,” the La Liga boss opined.
PSG, who hoped to hold on to their crown jewel, wouldn’t want to lose their star player on a free considering the circumstances.
According to Romano, PSG president Nasser-el-Khelaifi revealed “When we have both decided, we will let you know what’s gonna happen with Mbappé”.
Despite the developments surrounding the highly touted transfer of arguably the biggest star going forward, only time will tell where Mbappe will be playing come the beginning of the upcoming season.
