Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez engaged in a hilarious banter during a recent training session at Inter Miami. The two former Barcelona teammates reunited at the Major League Soccer (MLS) club after enjoying tremendous success in Spain. Upon his arrival in the first training session, Suarez was asked to run past all his Inter Miami teammates, who would pat his back in a welcoming gesture. Messi, who was standing at the end of the queue, landed a blow on Suarez’s neck. A clip of the incident was shared on social media and went viral in no time.
Luis Suarez seemed a bit irritated by the random slap attack. As seen in the footage, the 37-year-old goal-scorer turned back to Lionel Messi and asked, “Since when have you been throwing punches in the hallways, idiot?” The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner might have presumably expected such a response from Suarez as he did nothing but flash a hearty smile.

After Lionel Messi shifted his base to America last summer, Luis Suarez followed in the footsteps of the Argentine legend, joining Inter Miami from Gremio during the January transfer window. The Uruguayan striker made his debut for the American side in a pre-season friendly against FC Dallas earlier this week. Coming in as a substitute in the second half, Suarez joined Messi in the forward line. But the duo failed to make any impact as Inter Miami lost the match 1-0.
Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi linked up in the following friendly fixture against the El Salvador national team but again, failed to produce anything significant. Though he has yet to showcase his goal-scoring ability in the Inter Miami shirt, Suarez looks happy to reunite with his ex-dressing room mates– Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
Despite Inter Miami losing the pre-season game to FC Dallas, Messi and Suarez could demonstrate their chemistry at the Cotton Bowl. A few minutes before the first-half whistle, the Argentine captain delivered an aerial through into the opposition box. The ball could find Suarez. He attempted to send it into the net on the first touch but failed to give the direction.

Inter Miami are set to clash against Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League side in Riyadh on January 29 before squaring off against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr two days later.
