17 held for robbery bid on train

HYDERABAD: The Tirupatibound Padmavathi Express came to halt a couple of minutes at Tandur on Wednesday, after a few miscreants were involved in threatening passengers.
According to police, the miscreants who reportedly boarded the train in Secunderabad, closed a few coach doors, threatened and tried to steal cash and gold from passengers. As the train reached Tandur, some passengers informed railway police through their mobile phones. As soon as the train arrived at Tandur station, railway police stopped the train for a couple of minutes and made searches in all coaches. They detained as many as 17 persons including eight women who were moving in the train under suspicious circumstances.
