26/11 Terror Trail: The conspiracy and the questions

New Delhi: After two months of denial, Pakistan has finally admitted to it's role in the 26/11 terror tragedy. Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik gave a sober point-by-point detailed investigative report which thoroughly highlights the role of Ajmal Kasab and the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).

Here is some part of the conspiracy behind the strikes plotted in Pakistan:

• FIR lodged against nine persons, six arrested
• All booked under Anti-Terrorism Act
• Mastermind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi located and under investigation
• Hamad Ameen Sadiq, who facilitated money transfer to the terrorists, arrested
• Another Pakistani national Javed Iqbal, who acquired the VoIP phones for attackers in Spain, arrested
• Pakistan wants Ajmal Amir Kasab's statement made in court
• Pakistan seeks answers from India to 30 questions, including information on finger prints and DNA samples of all the terrorists
• Some of those involved were LeT operatives
• LeT operative Zarar Shah, a communication expert, has been located
• Islamabad would like to seek the custody of Kasab
• Two other accused identified only as Khan and Riaz
• Hamad Ameen Sadiq was the "main operator" in facilitating and coordinating the attacks
• Investigators bust two militant hideouts one in Karachi and another a short distance from the city
• Nine terrorists travelled to India from Karachi and three boats were used by them
• The shop from where the engine for the boat was purchased has been traced, owner arrested
• The money for the attackers was paid in Italy and the amount came from Islamabad
• Three e-mail accounts and Voice Over Internet Protocol were created from Spain by Javed Iqbal
• Some SIM cards used by the terrorists were procured from India

Here are the list of demands made by Pakistan:

• Ajmal Kasab's statement in court. This would help the Pakistani Federal Investigative Agency as well as the judicial probe
• The documents, diaries, SIM cards, memos used by the terrorists that were seized by India
• Exact details of the attacks at Nariman House - when and how the firing began
• Interception of conversations from Indian mobiles that the terrorists used to talk to their handlers. These had SIM cards used by the terrorists to communicate with the operatives in Pakistan and other countries
• Fingerprints of Kasab and all the killed terrorists to find out where they came from
• DNA samples of Kasab and the other nine terrorists
• Information on why the boat they used to reach Mumbai was not intercepted when it stopped mid-sea to refuel. Also, information on who helped the terrorists refuel their trawler mid-sea and why it was not intercepted by Indian agencies
