A 35-year-old woman was found murdered on Wednesday night in the downstairs room of her building in Andhra Pradesh’s Tenali. The woman identified as Ramisetti Alekya was allegedly lying naked and was strangulated to death according to a preliminary investigation by the cops.
The victim lived with her husband, Bharat who claimed that Alekya was in an extramarital relationship for seven years with Annam Srinivas. Bharat informed the police that Srinivas allegedly sent goons to kill Alekya, reported India Today.
Alekya’s relationship with Srinivas led to a legal dispute between her and Bharat, claimed the report without elaborating on specifics of the matter. The police have cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation into the murder.
In another unrelated incident, a man from Telangana’s Nirmal district allegedly killed his girlfriend with an axe after she started avoiding him over an arranged marriage, that her family had planned for him.
In the incident that took place in the Khanapur town of the district, the deceased’s sister, who was with her during the attack was also injured.
According to an India Today report, the victim Alekhya, was stepping out of a tailoring institute at around 1.30 pm when her boyfriend, Jukanti Srikanth, attacked her with an axe.
After being attacked, the woman died on the spot while her sister, who was accompanying her during the time of the attack, sustained injuries. The accused, Srikanth fled the scene after the attack and is currently on the run.
The victim, Alekhya, and the accused man, Srikanth were in a relationship but the woman had started avoiding her boyfriend after her family planned for her arranged marriage.
A case has been registered, as per police and the search for the accused and further investigation is currently underway.
