New Delhi: Though his last film 'David' turned out to be a flop but Neil Nitin Mukesh is quite upbeat about his latest project '3G'. He is acting opposite Sonal Chauhan in the psychological horror film which has a man called Sam Arora at the helm of affairs.
Sam Arora (Neil) is in a happy relationship with Sheena (Sonal Chauhan) but things change drastically when he buys a mobile phone with 3G facility. His life turns upside down when he receives a call from an unknown woman. The film will also feature Mrinalini Sharma in an important role.
Sonal Chauhan threw some light on her character in an interview given to IANS, "I think all the working girls will be able to relate to my character in the film. The quality and beauty of the character lies in the fact that she walks along with the character of Neil (Nitin Mukesh), in the film and takes the film forward."
The 27-year-old actress looked promising in her first film 'Jannat' (2008), but her career didn't move in the right direction after this. She is very hopeful about her role in '3G', "My role in the film is beyond looking glamorous... There are a lot of performance- driven scenes that I have."
On the other hand, Neil thinks it's a role that very few actors get in their life time, "The film is a psychological horror. It's very interesting, there is suspense, thrill. If I have to compare, then I might compare it with three Hollywood films, which are my favourite too and they are - 'What Lies Beneath', 'The Omen' and 'The Sixth Sense'."
The comparison of '3G' with some of the finest horror films displays the kind of expectations Neil has from this film, "Only these are the films with which I can compare '3G'. Because to create horror, ghost or such elements are not needed. There is nothing of that sort in it. It's a psychological horror."
Co-directed by Sheershak Anand and Shantanu Ray Chhibber, '3G' is going to face a stiff battle from 'Jolly LLB' and 'Mere Dad Ki Maruti' at the ticket window. (With inputs from IANS)
