The Delhi Police on Sunday arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with a shooting incident outside a nightclub in Seemapuri.
The incident, which took place on Friday night, was captured on CCTV at Kanch Club in the Jhilmil Industrial Area of Seemapuri.
The footage, which has been circulating on social media platforms, shows four men arriving at the nightclub. Three of them storm inside, while the fourth stands outside, threatening and forcing the bouncers to kneel. Shortly after, two of the attackers open fire into the air before fleeing the scene.
According to the police, at 12:59 a.m. on Saturday early morning, they received a call reporting the shooting incident.
A team from the Seemapuri police station arrived at the scene and found two live cartridges and eight empty shells on the road outside the club, along with two bullet marks on the club’s door.
As per the complaint filed by the club’s bouncer, four men arrived at the club around 11:45 p.m. on Friday. Two of them pointed their guns at the bouncer and fired shots at him.
Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered, leading to the arrest of one suspect named Shahrukh. Two additional suspects have been identified, and efforts are underway to apprehend them.
Initial investigations suggest the attack might be related to the club’s refusal to pay extortion money. An FIR has been registered under the Arms Act, and the identities of the attackers have been confirmed, an India Today report said.
