40-year-old SSB head constable dies after consuming poison

A Head Constable of Sashastra Seema Bal allegedly committed suicide after consuming poison, a senior officer said in Bahraich on Wednesday.

Mantoo Talukdar (40) of 50 battalion consumed poison late on Tuesday night and was rushed to a hospital, but he died on the way, assistant commandant Ashwini Kumar told reporters.

He said that motive behind the suicide was not clear. Kumar said that IG SSB Avinash Chandra would inquire into the matter.
