50 injured as buses collide

TIRUPUR: About 50 passengers were injured when two buses collided head-on near Palladam on Friday. A private bus from Coimbatore bound for J-Krishnapuram rammed into another private bus at Velappanaikenpalayam Pirivu. Of the 50 injured, four suffered serious injuries while 29 school students and five school teachers were among the injured.On information, the police rushed to the spot and some of the injured were admitted to the government hospital in Palladam while some were taken to a private hospital. Police investigation revealed that both the buses were over-speeding when one of the drivers lost control over the bus at Velappanaikenpalayam Pirivu.The Kamanaikenpalayam Police has registered a case.
