BANGALORE: The 60th Air Force Athletics and Marathon Championship 2012-13 was inaugurated by Air Vice Marshal S N Murti, Senior Maintenance Staff Officer, Headquarters Training Command of the Indian Air Force, Bangalore, at Air Force Station, Jalahalli. The championship will be conducted for five days. Some prominent athletes of Indian Air Force who participated and excelled at national and international level are also participating in this event. Prominent athletes include Sergeant N Kumar (Services Gold Medallist in 200 M), Sergeant M Singh (Services Gold Medallist in Triple Jump: 2011-12), Corporal P Gopinathan (Services Gold Medallist and Karnataka State Champion in 110 M Hurdles), Corporal E K Joseph (Services Bronze Medal in 800 M) and Corporal M P Thameem (Services Gold Medallist in 4x100m Relay). Athletes who excel in this championship will represent Indian Air Force in the Inter Services Athletics Championship 2012-13.
