BANGALORE: The Department of Electronics and Communication of MVJ college of Engineering recently organised a seminar on ‘Embedded System Design using MSP 430’ at the college premises. Dr K S Badrinarayan, principal, MVJCE along with faculties of different disciplines of engineering and more than 200 students from different branches of telecom engineering and electronic & communications engineering attended the seminar. Gurmeet Singh from Gill Instrument, Bangalore was the speaker for the occasion. The main objective of the seminar was to give the students a broad insight into the latest advances in the embedded technology and to create new innovative thinking ideas and strategies that can be designed and built using this technology. This effort will help students in their project work and in the various research topics, which can be formulated using this chip.“The talk was mainly focused on the new upcoming system on Chip ‘MSP430’ IC. A detailed description of the architecture and functioning of the chip was explained with a number of real time applications,” said Dr Badrinarayan.“The seminar was very interesting and informative. There was also a demo of some of the real time applications that can be designed using the chip. The applications were of diverse fields including mechanical and biomedical research areas,” shared Angas Mathew, a third-year student of telecom engineering who attended seminar.
