New Delhi: The AAP has been in the news for the wrong reasons since it came to power in Delhi on December 28, 2013. As someone said, "AAP means a day a controversy, sometimes two-three controversies."

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who came to power promising a clean and efficient government, has little time for his actual job. Most of his time is being spent on handling one or the other controversy.

The AAP blames the BJP for its woes, says the top leadership of the BJP is scared of AAP's popularity and trying to defame them by creating controversies, everyday. The BJP dismisses the claims saying that the AAP is deliberately doing crazy things to divert the attention from the real issues and failures of the government.

Reacting to the endless controversies Arun Jaitley said, "As they can't perform, now they are using all these ways."

The AAP is equally critical of the Congress, which is backing the government. Some tweeple even call Kejriwal a 'Krazywal'.

1. AAP MLA Madan Lal claims BJP offered Rs 20 crore to ditch AAP

The AAP MLA Madan Lal made a shocking revelation that a person claiming proximity to top the BJP leaders Narendra Modi and Arun Jaitley contacted him offering crores to defect and topple the Kejriwal government. The AAP is yet to come out with evidences to substantiate its claims.

2. MLA Vinod Binny revolts against AAP; reportedly unhappy at not getting a ministerial berth

AAP MLA from Laxmi Nagar in East Delhi, Vinod Kumar Binny caused a huge embarrassment by openly revolting and calling Arvind Kejriwal a liar and arrogant man. A week later the AAP expelled him from the party. He sat in a dharna for a few hours. Binny called it off claiming that Anna Hazare requested him to end his dharna.

3. Law Minister Somnath Bharti accused of tampering evidence in a case he handled as lawyer

Somnath Bharti is accused of trying to influence the evidence. The Delhi High Court also took note of it. The BJP is still demanding his sacking.

4. Somnath Bharti under fire for the midnight raid on African women in Khirki Extension

Perhaps the AAP government's biggest controversy till date. This incident forced Kejriwal to sit in a dharna near Parliament house ahead of Republic Day. He was forced to end the dharna after public opinion started turning against him.

Kejriwal's nightlong protest attracted the nationwide publicity. Some people started questioning his methods. Finally, he had to end his protest.

The AAP leader Kumar Vishwas has been a constant embarrassment for the party. His comments on various issues started coming out after the AAP came to power. Mallika Sarabhai, a new entrant attacked him.

Kumar Vishwas had described the nurses from Kerala as dark and ugly in one of his programmes. It led to a huge protest across Kerala. Finally, Vishwas had to apologise.

8. Reports of splinter units in various states even before AAP goes national

Splinter groups are still causing a huge problem for the AAP. In Tamil Nadu, two rival groups within the party openly leveled charges against each other and even a complaint with the police was registered.

9. Prashant Bhushan's comments on Army presence in J&K draws flak

Senior advocate and a founder member Prashant Bhushan's comment on the Army presence in Jammu and Kashmir led to protests. A fringe Hindutva group even attacked the AAP office in Ghaziabad.

10. Congress MLA disrupts Kejriwal's press meet

A Congress MLA Asif Mohammad Khan barged into CM Arvind Kejriwal's press meet and called him a liar. He even threatened to withdraw his support to the government.

11. Arvind Kejriwal releases a list of 'corrupt' leaders

Arvind Kejriwal read out the names of 25 top political leaders in India asking the people to defeat them in the coming elections. Many leaders threatened that they will sue him for calling them corrupt.

Madhu Bidhuri quits over attack on African women. She describes it as a Khap mindset.

13. Arvind Kejriwal's roadside Janata Darbar called off

Arvind Kejriwal was forced to call off his Janata Darbar after the crowd went out of control. It drew sharp criticism.

14. AAP MLA slapped by a woman.

AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya was slapped by a woman over drinking water related issues in his constituency. She alleged that the water mafia was active in her area.

15. Fake members in AAP list

The names like US President Barack Obama, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and Hollywood actress Angelina Jollie appear in the AAP membership list. An embarrassed AAP hurriedly deletes those names, blames opposition parties.
