AGs statement has put government in a fix: NSS

KOTTAYAM: The NSS on Sunday stated that the government had fallen into a trap in the wake of the Accountant General making a statement in the High Court on Mullaperiyar issue.NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair said that the government should prove its sincerity on the issue by taking steps to convince the High Court on the real condition of the dam. He said that the government should remove the AG from his post at the earliest. The Centre’s slow pedaling on the issue and Tamil Nadu’s defiance have pushed the people into further uncertainty. There is nothing wrong if people thought the government is inefficient for failing to bring down the water level to 120 ft, he said.
