An Air India flight from Tokyo to Delhi made an emergency landing in Kolkata after a woman complained of labour pain mid-air.
Kolkata: A Tokyo-Delhi Air India flight made an emergency landing at the N S C B International airport in Kolkata on Saturday after a woman complained of labour pain mid-air.
An airport official said full-fledged medical emergency procedures were in place with doctors and security personnel as the AI flight 307 touched down at the airport around 4.40 pm and the woman and her husband were whisked to the nearby super-speciality private hospital.
The plane finally left for Delhi at around 6.10 pm. The woman, a foreigner whose identity was kept under wraps, was doing fine.
