CHENNAI: The 39th Annual Day of Shree Goutham Chand Kothari Jain Schools conducted by Shree Jain Shikshan Sangh, Royapuram, was celebrated at the Raja Annamalai Mandram.Kushalchand Ranka and Sripal Kothari, along with the management authorities, welcomed the chief guest of the day D Jayakumar, Speaker, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.Nanda Kumar I R S, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Chennai, gave an inspiring speech. He advised students to prepare themselves and get ready to meet the challenges of life in the future. He emphasised on the need for character, self-confidence and courage. He said these are what will help students come out with flying colours in their lives. He further advised the students to not be negatively influenced by politicians, media and other social events.Shantilal Jain, Managing Partner, Jain Metal Rolling Mills, inaugurated the function by lighting the kuthuvilaku.Suganchand Baradia delivered the presidential speech. Jayakumar, in his brief speech, highlighted some of the demands from the society that the students must fulfill.He also said that they should all be well equipped with modern technology to face the challenges of life in a world full of competition.He also distributed awards to the victorious students.The head of the institute presented the annual report for the year 2011-12.Students of various classes put up different shows on the occasion.
