VISAKHAPATNAM: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Sunday unearthed assets worth crores of rupees belonging to former Regional Transport Officer P Nookaraju who retired from service at Ongole in June last year.The ACB officials conducted searches at his houses in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Narsipatnam following a direction from a local ACB Court on a private complaint filed by a certain Radha Krishna. ACB DSP (Visakhapatnam range) Rama Krishna said that during the raids, they had found documents of nearly 30 acres of land and a 279 sq yd house. All this property is in Visakhapatnam. Besides, Nookaraju also owns a flat each in Masab Tank and Madhapur in Hyderabad. “It was found that Nookaraju owns `60 lakh worth properties. He bought several properties after he retired from service,” Rama Krishna said. However, the market value is said to be several crores of rupees. The income tax officials raided Nookaraju’s house recently in Vizag.
