New Delhi: It seems like an impossible task taming Blueline buses. They still remain the biggest killers on Delhi roads.

Two people were crushed under the Blueline wheels in two separate incidents on Thursday.

Early on Thursday morning a Blueline bus ran over one person in Paharganj. And a 24-year old software engineer was crushed to death near Okhla Mandi in South Delhi.

The driver of the second bus was arrested and charged under section 279 and 304 A of the IPC.

The Blueline had also not been allowed to operate and the buses had come under the scanner after a string of fatal accidents in the last month. Over 60 people have died this year in accidents involving Blue Line buses.

The Delhi Transport Corporation had deployed around 200 of its staff at 34 depots to facilitate this.

“We are taking all steps to make sure that Blue Line buses become safe,” motor licensing officer, south zone, A R Joshi had said.

Delhi has around 2, 800 government buses.
