HYDERABAD: The state legislative Assembly has once again become a battleground for chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and leader of the opposition N Chandrababu Naidu to hit out at each other. During the question hour on Friday, the first question on NREGS turned into a debate consuming the time of the entire session and led to a wordy duel between the two leaders. Here are excerpts:Naidu: You are just like a student and lack the necessary administrative experience.Kiran: Learning is a life-long process. One should not think that one knows everything.Naidu: I am giving suggestions to the government to rectify the mistakes.Kiran: But you are not of the kind who listen to others.Naidu: If you commit irregularities in the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, you will land in jailKiran: Your irregularities in the implementation of the Food for Work programme made you sit in the Opposition.Naidu: Let the House adopt a resolution urging the Centre to link NREGS with agriculture.Kiran: You are very clever. You have information that the Centre is coming out with a legislation on that. That is why you came up with resolution idea. (Naidu laughs)Naidu: You are presenting a new thesis on crop holiday.Kiran: With the implementation of NREGS the migration from Srikakulam and Vizianagaram to East Godavari has stopped. That is one of the reasons for the crop holiday.
