Big B on the fence on cola controversy
Bachchan said that the recent tests over colas and fizzy drinks are yet to prove any concrete results.

New Delhi: Bollywood’s most sought after star and living legend, Amitabh Bachchan has said that the ongoing controversy over colas and fizzy drinks, which allegedly contain pesticide content, is something that requires more clarification.

"This is very technical. There is an institution that has discovered there are impurities and then there are those who manufacture them who say that this is not all factual," said Bachchan while replying to a question whether celebrities should continue to endorse cola brands despite the controversy.

Apparently, Bachchan has been a brand endorser for over a decade now. So far, he has endorsed brands like Pepsi, ICICI, Parker Pens, Maruti Versa, Reid & Taylor, Nerolac Paints, and Dabur.

He was also a prominent part of a recent AIDS campaign.

Bachchan said that the recent tests over colas and fizzy drinks are yet to prove any concrete results.

"There is a section that says that there are impurities in the food that you eat and the water that you drink. This is something that has to be worked out between Government agencies and the agencies that manufacture them," he said.

Even at 61, Bachchan makes more from his endorsements than the stars of today like Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.

Recently, he beat Aamir, who had bagged the biggest endorsement for Coke, with a whopping Rs 10 crore contract with ICICI.
