Thamizhvani raised an alarm for help.On hearing her voice, the local residents gathered in large numbers and chased the snatchers. Though the duo sped away on their bike, they soon found themselves cornered against a dead end. Realising that there was no way out, they took a U-turn. However, they rammed into stack of bricks kept for construction work along the road and were thrown off the bike. While Sunil was caught by the mob, his accomplice managed to escape. Sunil, who sustained injuries, was allegedly beaten up by an angry crowd. The people admitted him to a private hospital after learning that he had sustained injuries in the accident.Police registered a case against Sunil and his associates. They later shifted him to Vellore Govt Medical College and Hospital.
