THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Claiming that all the 16 ruling coalition MPs from Kerala had failed to impress upon the Central Government to take urgent steps to settle the Mullaperyar issue, BJP state unit will send a delegation to New Delhi to impress upon the BJP national leadership to intervene in the issue.Briefing the BJP state leadership meet here on Friday, state president V Muralidharan said that the UPA’s MPs from Kerala should have met the Opposition leader in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Muralidharan said that it was not just an issue between two states. It is the ruling party’s failure that has come to the fore. He said that the Advocate-General was expected to present the policy of the State Government. But he is acting against the interests of the state.He said that the government was not sincere on the issue and had acted against the consensus evolved in the all-party meeting. BJP would lay siege to the Secretariat on December 9 in protest against the ineffective stand of the government.He said that the party’s candidate for the Piravom by-election will be decided after December 9. State general secretaries K Surendran and K P Sreesan will visit the constituency on December 7 to feel the pulse of the workers.All-India joint organising secretary V Satheesh and national secretary P Muralidhar Rao also attended the state leadership meet.
