New Delhi: The Opposition BJP on Tuesday decided to take its minority appeasement agenda to the streets and promised protests nationwide on the Prime Minister's remarks on December 15.
On Tuesday, BJP pinned down the Government in Parliament over the PM's statement on minorities made at a meeting of the National Development Council.
The party's MPs walked out of Lok Sabha a short while ago. The BJP says that it will take the protests on this to the streets on December 15.
"We condemn the PM's speech. UPA is playing vote bank politics," said BJP President, Rajnath Singh.
"This is not a mistake. Many Congress leaders and Montek have confirmed what the PM said," added BJP Spokesperson V K Malhotra.
Wednesday is likely to be a tough day for the UPA as well. The BJP may bring up the issue of Mohammad Afzal's hanging in Parliament for it is the 5th anniversary of the terror attack on Parliament - the case in which Afzal is convicted.
