BHUBANESWAR: The Anusuchit Jati (Scheduled Caste) Morcha of the BJP’s State unit on Saturday slammed the State Government alleging increasing atrocities on the community. Addressing the executive committee meeting of the Morcha, BJP State president Jual Oram said the Government had failed on all fronts. While the people belonging to scheduled categories are subjected to exploitation, the Government has miserably failed to protect their interest. Mounting a scathing attack on the Government, he said when it failed to provide security to its MLAs, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has no moral right to continue in office. The Government has completely surrendered before the Maoists by agreeing to their demands of releasing hard-core rebels who have committed serious crimes. The State never saw such a weak government, Oram said and added his party would launch a mass movement against the ‘anti-people policy’ of the Government. The meeting, presided over by president of the Morcha Baidhar Mallick, observed that while Scheduled Caste people are being ‘exploited’ by Christian missionaries, the Government is doing nothing. The Naveen Patnaik Government is hand-in-glove with the Congress. Mallick also blasted the Government for not filling up vacant posts in various departments reserved for the SCs. He urged the Government to fill up the posts through special drives and act fast on cases of atrocities against people of scheduled categories.
