Several blind models walked the ramp in a first-of-its-kind fashion show in Guwahati on Saturday.

Guwahati: At a time when a visually challenged boy from Delhi is mesmerising the nation with his voice at a popular singing competition Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, a few other visiually challenged young people took the ramp in Guwahati on Saturday evening.

In what the organisers, 'The Heaven', claim to be the first-of-its-kind, several blind models walked the ramp in a fashion show at the Pragjyoti ITA Centre in Guwahati.

The blind models, mostly students from different parts of the state, were supported by professional models in showcasing young designer Himangshu Bora's creations.

The fashion show, which was slated to be held on an earlier date had to be rescheduled.

The audience was a match of cultural, social and political activists. But the common man wasn't far in joining in to appreciate the noble venture.

A large number of people flocked to watch the free for all show.

The organisers had announced that a part of the earnings from the fashion show would be used for the cause of the blind students.

Designer Bora maintained that the experience would inculcate confidence in the blind students, besides making them feel a part of the normal walk of life.
