Body of teenaged girl found; 22-year-old commits suicide

Body of a 19-year-old girl was found on Fulat-Khatili road near Khatoli in the district, police said on Tuesday.

Police suspect that she was allegedly stoned to death by some persons on Monday. The body of the unidentified girl has been sent for postmortem, they added.

In another incident, a 22-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Ganga canal near Ramraj village in the district, police said on Tuesday.

Sandeep took the extreme step on Monday, they said, adding that family dispute was stated as the reason behind the tragedy. The case is being investigated, they added.
